LAW & ORDER Adds Maura Tierney

Maura Tierney has joined the upcoming season of LAW & ORDER as a new series regular, Give Me My Remote has confirmed. Tierney will play a lieutenant, following the exit of Camryn Manheim’s Lieutenant Dixon. (Manheim’s exit has yet to be addressed on-screen.)

Ahead of Tierney’s casting, L&O star Mehcad Brooks (who plays Shaw on the NBC drama) anticipated there might be some initial on-screen drama with the new team leader.

“I think anytime there’s a new boss, there’s always going to be some sort of tension, some sort of conflict,” Brooks he told GMMR earlier this month. “There’s also going to be some inroads that can be created that might be unforeseen. There might be some shared experience in life, might be some similarities that weren’t expected. And I’m excited to explore all those things—and a lot more character work.”

Tierney’s previous TV work includes ER, THE AFFAIR, YOUR HONOR, and AMERICAN RUST: BROKEN JUSTICE.
