Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

PRESS YOUR LUCK: Dylan got over $152k BEFORE the big round?! My God. That was one of the best games I’ve ever seen. And then the bonus round was insane, too—so much success, then three Whammies in a row, before ultimately taking home another $150k?! Yeah, that was a great episode. (And I get it was branding/promotion, but the Deadpool and Wolverine Whammies were fun, too.)

BIG BROTHER: Okay, with all due respect to Matt, I am glad the house voted him out. It’s not that he couldn’t have been an interesting player, but so many houseguests being like, “Uh, this is the kind of guy you get out in week 1 if you can, but I guess he has numbers” made me annoyed. Talk to each other?! And, clearly, they did. Because, yes, it certainly would have helped his game to stay, but getting Matt out immediately was better for virtually everyone remaining. (Also, being so obvious with a showmance after a couple of days? That had to hurt him, too.)

Also, what’s up with Kenney implying he didn’t want to fight? Was he just homesick? He at least seemed to try, but it’ll be interesting to see if this becomes an issue down the line.

DON’T FORGET THE LYRICS: The first hour/game was great. A solid game, great gameplay. But, oy, that second hour. (Though, the “I’m Yours” lyrics shocked me…I always thought it was “and then you’re free” not “and damn you’re free”—I was convinced she was wrong! Good for that second contestant.) At least the second contestant won some money, but I felt bad for the third (and always do when they walk away before guaranteeing the minimum)…and it feels rough when they have these not-great games as part of a two-hour block. Alas.

CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION: I just really, really, really hope this comes together for me in the finale. It’s interesting and ambitious to keep doing these season-long arcs—and I assume they’ll keep doing this for the duration of its run on Paramount+—but I just have not been invested in the main case the way I know I absolutely should have. (Always love seeing Tuc Watkins, though.)
