AMERICAN IDOL: Carrie Underwood Reportedly Joins the Judging Panel

Former AMERICAN IDOL winner Carrie Underwood is reportedly returning to the show as a new judge, Deadline reports. She’ll replace departing judge Katy Perry.

Underwood won season 4 of IDOL (in 2005) back when the show was on Fox. She’ll join returning judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan for season 23, which will mark the eighth on ABC.

This will be the first time a former winner has joined the judging panel full-time.
