CHICAGO P.D. Adds Toya Turner as New Series Regular

CHICAGO P.D. has added NEW AMSTERDAM vet Toya Turner as a new series regular, Give Me My Remote has confirmed. Turner will play Kiana Cook, a new patrol officer. [This post was updated to reflect the most current name for Turner’s character.]

The move comes as Intelligence is short-staffed: Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) left the team at the end of season 11.

“It’s going to be such an interesting season next year because we are operating as a small unit, so we have a lot of space to bring in new people, to have new personalities, new kinds of police officers come into the unit,” showrunner Gwen Sigan told GMMR at the end of season 11. “And I think it will really invigorate the show in a lot of ways and create some new dynamics for the team that I’m very excited about writing and I can’t wait to get in the room next week and start thinking on some new characters. It’s fun.”

Turner’s recent TV credits include WARRIOR NUN, GREY’S ANATOMY, as well as guest spots (as different characters) on CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO FIRE.
