About Last Night…BIG BROTHER and CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

BIG BROTHER: So did they just not tell Kenney what was going on, or…?

Also, I’m surprised a few of Lisa’s allies didn’t throw her a vote just to be kind. It would have caused a bit of mayhem in the house and also shown her support. (Though, I guess, maybe they thought Lisa lying about her vote didn’t help her fate in the show.)

Does Tucker now believe Lisa doesn’t have the power? And is there even a two percent chance Angela won’t have a meltdown this week?

CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION: Paget Brewster was so good in the finale. Emily has had a rough season, but fighting for her life while kidnapped was a new high/low for the year for her. It also really, finally, made the season-long mythology hold more weight for me as we got a little more context for why the heck this was all happening and Emily had been tormented for weeks. (Also really loved how they utilized footage from past seasons of the prior times Emily had been targeted.)

It also allowed Emily to be a badass, but also read the room and work the situation: She wanted Jade and Pete to survive, despite what they had done to others, to her. She got to fight for them and herself and ultimately they (with real help from the team) came out on top. And, yes, I loved that the team utilized Voit’s confession from early in the season as a way to save Emily’s life and prove he had been the one to kill Douglas.

I have very mixed feelings about the very final scene, but I can’t deny I laughed at Voit being back at BAU and him reveling in how miserable everyone was to see him again. (And Penelope staring down Voit?! Heck yes. Absolutely badass.) I think they did ultimately end up utilizing him well this season, but it felt like it has reached a tipping point/the end of the road. (At least in a regular capacity.)
