LOVE ISLAND USA Reunion: Which Couples Are Still Together?

[Warning: This post contains spoilers for the LOVE ISLAND USA season 6 reunion.]

The LOVE ISLAND USA season 6 cast reunited…with a lot of shake-ups since last month’s finale.

Here’s where everyone stands now…

Kordell and Serena:
The season 6 winners had two bits of good news: They were officially boyfriend-girlfriend and he got a Cheez-Its deal.

And though the duo had one of the most dramatic paths to coupledom on the show—especially after his time in Casa Amor–Serena also made it very, very, very clear she was in a good place with Daia, who Kordell brought back and was briefly coupled with. 

Kenny and JaNa:
The couple took their relationship on the road, with Kenny bringing JaNa to Dallas to meet his mom. When host Ariana Madix asked what news they had, JaNa dropped a bombshell of her own: She was pregnant…before she revealed she was actually joking. The real news: They’re officially boyfriend-girlfriend, too. 

Former contestant Coye Simmons apologized to JaNa and Kenny for saying their relationship wasn’t real; he acknowledged he was wrong. The couple accepted.

Miguel and Leah: 
Miguel recruited Serena to try and help surprise Leah—even though Leah hates surprises, and Serena warned as much—but the duo are doing well together now; he asked her to be his girlfriend. 

Nicole and Kendall:
The couple has been going through a rough patch in the aftermath of an intimate video of Kendall being released publicly without his consent.

In the immediate aftermath of the video being leaked, Kendall told Nicole it was filmed years ago. Nicole found out, instead, he had made the video in the hotel, on a dating app. Kendall tried to defend himself, saying he didn’t handle it well in the moment, but Nicole was struggling with both his decision to lie and how she felt he hadn’t protected her in the fallout.

 “We’re still together, even though you’ve let the world think we’re not together,” Nicole said. She acknowledged “there’s a lot of conversations to be had, and I don’t take this lightly,”

A number of the contestants tried to defend Kenall and what he was going through, but Serena started laughing, prompting Ariana to question what she was feeling and thinking. Serena admitted she would have been done with the lies, but she also believes in giving people second chances, and Nicole should have the freedom to figure out her feelings without an audience. And if she opted to leave, believing this was something she couldn’t get over, Serena noted, “I don’t think she should be ridiculed for that, as well.”

[Update, Tuesday, August 20: Nicole wrote on Instastory that she and Kendall had decided to work on their relationship as of August 18th. Then, on August 20th, “he called and ended things.”

Here’s what else she wrote: “While I understand and respect his decision, It’s hard to process this one. I opened up to him in the villa, and still love and care for him now. I’m struggling mentally and all I ask for is privacy during this time.”]

Kaylor and Aaron: 
The one couple to be indisputably over was Kaylor and Aaron. The couple was in LA and everything was fine….and then she came home and watched the show.

Aaron acknowledged on the reunion show he lied, and started listing off his lies…and it set Kaylor off, who was just hearing these revelations for the first time. (He said he didn’t want to ruin their off-camera reunion.)

Kaylor was enraged, asking why he kept “f—ing lying to me?”

“I can’t believe I wasted my entire f—ing summer on you, Aaron,” she said. “I don’t want anything to do with you. I never want to speak with you again, you are disgusting.” 

After noting she came in confident and left the Villa broken, she demanded he “leave me alone, you do not deserve me.” (She also swapped seats with Liv, for good measure.)

Kaylor also noted she didn’t blame Daniela; it was only Aaron’s fault for what went down.

On Aaron’s part, he was upset his grandfather died and Kaylor did a podcast hours later trashing him.

Kassy and Rob:

The duo got, uh, close in the Villa, but are strictly friends now.  

The firepit of it all:
One of the most controversial moments in the Villa this season was the decision to send Andrea—who was paired with Rob—home and save Nicole and JaNa. There were a lot of questions about what was actually said since there were allegations Leah, who had been off/on with Rob, had helped push Andrea out.

The entirety of the debate was shown, showing that Leah fought to save Nicole, but did not push for Andrea to be axed. (Another person actually brought up Rob and Leah’s connection and how he was still drawn to her.) After the contestants watched the video, Liv tore into Rob for misspeaking when he spoke to the girls; Leah had told him she tried to take a backseat, not that she took a backseat. But the small difference changed how Liv and Kaylor responded to his question at the time, which led to even more drama in the Villa. Rob acknowledged his mistake.

The reunion highlight:
JaNa came with printed receipts, calling out how Andrea had bashed Leah (and others) both on and off the show. (Rob also acknowledged Andrea didn’t appear to be the woman he thought he was getting to know in the Villa.)
