SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION: Mookie Betts Returns to His Hometown to Help Upgrade His Father’s Home

A special edition of the popular CBS Original reality series SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION featuring eight-time all-star and Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Markus “Mookie” Betts, will air Friday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. CBS is airing a special edition of SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION on Friday, September 20 (at 8/7c) featuring Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts.
In the episode, Betts returns to Nashville, Tennessee to help upgrade the home his father, Willie, lives in. Though the All-Star had wanted to help his father in the past, Willie had previously declined.
“I really just want to give him a nice living area,” Betts says in the episode. “Just kind of upgrade him a little bit. He’s comfortable here and he’s not good with change but he’s getting older now and his house definitely needs an upgrade.”
“It’s challenging for an MLB star to participate in SECRET CELEBRITY RENOVATION due to the demands of their long season,” said show creator Robert Horowitz in a statement. “Despite the tight filming schedule, Mookie was determined to take on the Nashville project for his father. The end result is a heartwarming father-son story that beautifully showcases their bond.”

Nischelle Turner returns to host the series, while the design team includes home improvement contractor and television personality Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano and interior designer Sabrina Soto. Boston Rob—a diehard Boston Red Sox fan (where Betts previously played)—makes a friendly bet with Betts in the hour when the duo take batting practice. Betts also visits his old high school and reunites with his former coach.
