It’s Official: 9-1-1: LONE STAR to End with Season 5
September 5, 2024 by Marisa Roffman
It’s finally official: 9-1-1: LONE STAR will end with its upcoming fifth season, Give Me My Remote has confirmed.
“From the start, fans have followed the heroic and deeply moving stories of the men and women who make up Austin’s 126, so a huge thanks to one of the greatest creative teams in all of television — Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear — for creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere,” said Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network, in a statement. “Now in our final season of the show, we’re set to give it the high-stakes send-off it deserves, complete with breathless rescues, insurmountable odds and relatable personal struggles, thanks to our incomparable, stellar cast led by Rob Lowe and Gina Torres.”
Rumors of the show’s demise spread this summer, as multiple cast and crew referred to filming the show’s final season.
In May, Rob Wade, CEO of FOX Entertainment, told reporters that LONE STAR’s future was TBD. “LONE STAR was not on the schedule this year because of the strike, obviously, and we’re really looking forward to getting it back on in the fall,” he said at the time. “And we are excited about the new season. We’re going to see how that goes, as always, and then make decisions on the future of that franchise as and when we need to.”
The final episode will air in early 2025.
