Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

RESCUE HI-SURF: It was an interesting pilot, but didn’t quite grab me the way I wanted. I really wanted a lot more fun, honestly. I may keep it on my DVR for a bit to see if it grows, but it wasn’t an instant must-watch for me.

MATLOCK: Oh, I loved it. I’m not someone who watched the original MATLOCK—frankly, I only know it from the SIMPSONS jokes—and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Yes, I love Jennie Snyder Urman’s work and Kathy Bates is an incredible actress, but I wasn’t sure if this show would grab me.

And then I watched the pilot.

The first part was fun and interesting, but the undercover/long con/mythology? Oh, I’m in. In rewatching the pilot, knowing the twist, it’s incredible how they weave hints in. (Yes, they go over it in the ending montage, too, but it’s really remarkable watching the pilot again with the knowledge of everything that’s to come.) This makes everything so much more interesting and so messy. I can’t wait to go on this ride.

[For more on the premiere and what’s to come, here’s what Urman shared.]

BOB’S BURGERS: I can’t believe they didn’t botch the undercover operation. (I thought for sure the request for it to be a medium burger would be what doomed them.)

BIG BROTHER: They killed JANKIE?!

Zingbot was way too nice to several of the house guests. But outing Chelsie’s feelings for Cam…sure was something. (Everyone’s reactions were hilarious, though.)

Makensy was smart, at least, with her choices…if Angela is really her target, yeah, she’s paired up with Leah, but with Angela gone, Leah is way more likely to be loyal/ride or die with Makensy. If Makensy put her on the block, it blows up that potential dynamic. It’s easy for people to backseat HOH, but they’re down to jury and a very small pool. (That being said, as they’ve all said, Angela has consistently wiggled out of danger. Will she win Veto? Will Leah win it and save her? Could get messy.)
