About Last Night…THE VOICE and NCIS: ORIGINS
October 15, 2024 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
THE VOICE: Cameron was incredible. Wow. What a great performance of “The Way We Were”…absolutely deserving of that four-chair.
I feel like a lot of the episode beyond that was hit/miss. A couple of the saved-at-the-last-second people didn’t grab me; we’ll see if the Battles change things.
NCIS: ORIGINS: Okay, this is not the biggest thing, but worth noting because it was literally distracting: Why is the show so freaking dark? Let me see your show. (Yes, I sound 100.)
As a casual watcher of the NCIS universe, I know my take on this will be different than those who live and breathe this show. (And know Gibbs’ history inside and out/will be very annoyed about the continuity breaking moment with his father, etc.) From what I saw, I enjoyed it; I’m especially intrigued—and concerned—by this being a story of Lala. Do I worry this means she’s absolutely doomed, in a way that’s going to break us all? Yep. Am I hoping to be wrong about that? Also yep.
I’m also really interested in how the older tech impacts the investigations. Now, we’re so used to things happening fast (sometimes unrealistically!), but it’s already a thing here how certain tests will take days. (Or longer.) It gives the show an edge as far as being unique in the modern procedural world.
