Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

THE EQUALIZER: It’s funny: I was just thinking this was the best episode of the season, how great it was to have Fisk back, how everyone was clicking…and then Fisk gave himself up. Something felt wrong from the start of that decision, and it hit me about a second before it dawned on Robyn what he was doing, and…sigh. I get it. It was a great story beat, it made sense. But I’m sad for the team, who went through another trauma. I’m really sad it seems like Fisk is gone for good this time. (I mean, that was a very big explosion on a very small boat. And given Robyn mentioned he had come out of the impossible intact before, I assume they got some proof of death.) Fisk really was a great addition to the show and I’ll miss him.

And, man, poor Dante. Somehow the stuff with his father got even more tragic…the grief over his father potentially being lost and frustration over Big Ben getting to essentially skate on his past harmful actions towards his family was heartbreakingly nuanced. But, uh, also a bit of yikes to him seemingly losing Aunt Vi’s support for his relationship with Robyn. She was clear she liked him, obviously, but her cautioning Robyn to remember how devastated she was when he left was a bittersweet moment.

(We’re totally going to see that young hacker again, right?)
