Fox Swaps Post-Super Bowl Series to THE FLOOR
November 18, 2024 by Marisa Roffman
Fox has tweaked its post-Super Bowl programming.
THE FLOOR season 3 premiere will now lead-out the 2025 Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9 after Super Bowl LIX. Originally, an episode of new drama RESCUE HI-SURF was set for the slot.
According to Fox, THE FLOOR ranks as the “#1 game show for the second consecutive season.” In the show, “100 contestants face-off in duels on a giant grid of squares representing their personal field of trivia expertise. The winner of each timed head-to-head trivia battle takes control of their opponent’s square, while the loser goes home. Only one player will dominate THE FLOOR and walk away with a life-changing cash prize.” Rob Lowe serves as host and executive producer.
RESCUE HI-SURF will still air a big episode that week: On Monday, February 10 (at its normal 9/8c time slot), “Sonny (Robbie Magasiva), Em (Arielle Kebbel) and the Ocean Safety team face their most dangerous rescue yet when a literal minefield is discovered on the ocean floor, while a hugely popular influencer will do anything to capture viral content for her massive following.”
This marks the third consecutive post-Super Bowl slot going to an unscripted show, after THE MASKED SINGER (in 2020) and NEXT LEVEL CHEF (in 2023).
