A near-death hostage situation made Robyn reassess her love life on the Sunday, December 8 episode of THE EQUALIZER.

After Robyn spent weeks getting closer and closer to Miles (including roasting a goose and bringing him the meal at the hospital where he works)—and then running into Dante at said hospital and officially introducing the two men to each other—the trio found themselves in a hostage situation. (Dante’s case had him guarding a key member of the cartel; the cartel wanted the woman back.)

Things got tricky (Dante was injured and Miles was taken hostage), but they managed to survive intact. When Robyn and Miles had some alone time in her home, she told her ex they needed to talk.

“I don’t think that we should—” Robyn started.

“What?” Miles interjected. “Be happy? Rob, we’re good together. And you know it.”

But Robyn had a different read on the situation: “We’re safe together. And that’s not enough.”

“We’re much more than that,” Miles argued. “And if you just gave us a chance, a real chance, I know you’ll feel what I’m feeling.”

But she pointed out they’ve been good for a while, and they’ve changed since their time together as a couple. Miles admitted he had given up on them before and it was the worst mistake of his life—one he had no intention of repeating.

“When I’m out there and I think about home, it’s you that I see,” Miles insisted. “And I look forward to the day that you meet me there.”

“We will always be family, but I cannot promise you a home,” Robyn answered.

“Then I’ll wait until you can,” Miles replied.

Though Robyn backpedaled on their possibly rekindled relationship, she invited Miles to join her and the team at Mel’s bar to celebrate; he said he had to work, but he pointed out her inviting him after all of that might be a sign.

At the bar, Robyn and Dante had a moment to catch up. And the duo started to have their own moment…before Robyn got distracted by Delilah and her boyfriend, Cam, sharing a kiss.

Did Robyn make the right decision?
