FBI: MOST WANTED returns on Tuesday, January 28 with the Fugitive Task Force investigating a string of connected deadly fires in “Moving On.”

The team quickly realizes the one thing tying the victims together is the 1985 MOVE bombing in Philadelphia. “Our writers always do a great job of researching real cases and finding ways to incorporate them into our storylines,” FBI: MOST WANTED showrunner David Hudgins tells Give Me My Remote via email. “The episode touches on generational trauma and the lasting effects a disaster leaves on a community. I hope people take some time to investigate the case if they haven’t heard of the 1985 MOVE Bombing.”

And the agents are dealing with personal problems, too. For Nina (Shantel VanSanten), her sister, Tink (Hannah Adrian), reaches out with trouble in her marriage. “Tink has been a fun addition,” Hudgins says. “It’s a look into what Nina would have been like if she never left Texas. Think is a great foil for Nina. While these two are sisters, they are quite different. We see that as new problems come up for the both of them.”

Things are also complicated for Hana (Keisha Castle-Hughes) and Ethan (Michael Raymond-James), who recently split.  “As much as Hana wants to walk away completely, something is telling her to hang on,” Hudgins previews. “She wants to help him, but that doesn’t mean she forgives him. They will have to figure out what the means for their relationship moving forward.”

Hudgins, of course, is also hard at work on a potential expansion of the FBI franchise with FBI: CIA. (He’s co-developing it alongside Dick Wolf, Nicole Perlman, and David Chasteen.) Hudgins declined to share more, but acknowledges “we are excited” for the upcoming planted spinoff episode on FBI.

FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesdays, 10/9c, CBS
