“Unalive and Well” – When a young man is found dead in his car, Elsbeth visits the holistic wellness center he’d just left, and begins to suspect its charismatic founder (Eric McCormack), on the CBS original series ELSBETH, Thursday, Jan. 30 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)* Pictured (L-R): Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni and Eric McCormack as Tom Murphey Photo: Michael Parmelee/CBS ©2024 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. With Elsbeth’s (Carrie Preston) involvement in a high-profile potential cover-up now public news—thanks to the meddling Judge Crawford (Michael Emerson)—the lawyer tries to get away from it all (via crime-solving) at a wellness center on the Thursday, January 30 episode of ELSBETH.

Eric McCormack runs a wellness center outside the city, and someone dies after leaving there,” ELSBETH showrunner Jonathan Tolins previews to Give Me My Remote. “And Elsbeth will check herself in [to the center].”

“One of the things I love about that episode is everybody at the center gets a journey partner that they work with, and Elsbeth is teamed up with a character named Sheryl, who was played by Marcia Debonis, who is one of my favorite actresses,” he continues. “And [Sheryl] is someone who is just so vulnerable and open emotionally that Elsbeth just can’t help but open up to her. And that’s where we’re going to learn a lot about what led Elsbeth to New York. Sometimes you open yourself up much more to someone who doesn’t know you very well. And that’s what happens in that episode.”

As the show is now solidly in its sophomore season, Tolins acknowledges he is “so proud of the run of episodes we have.”

“I’ve been proud of everything, but I feel like everybody working on the show is really firing on all cylinders now,” he says. “We all know what the show is, we all have a deeper sense of what it is, and what is possible with it. And I think we’ve been very good about challenging ourselves so no episode feels like any other exactly. I can’t wait for people to see this run.”

ELSBETH, Thursdays, 10/9c, CBS
