About Last Night…THE VOICE and EXTRACTED

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!

THE VOICE: I was really worried Hayden Grove wouldn’t get the reaction he wanted given how certain he was Michael Bublé would recognize him, but, hey, he was correct! Adam Levine ended up being the one to turn/get him on his team, but I’m curious if that will stick.

Smart of Bublé to block Kelsea Ballerini on a country singer, though, given how difficult it has been for non-country coaches to really woo singers in that genre to their team. (See: Adam trying to fake out Kelsea with another male country singer and still losing him to her.)

Ricardo Moreno feels like a good use of the Coach Replay button, though I’m shocked no one turned. His voice was great and he clearly had charisma even without looking at him. He could be a stealth underdog here.

EXTRACTED: I get why this show was ordered; it’s hard to find a new take on the survival reality competition shows, and this is a new level of unhinged. It still felt absolutely insane and arguably inhumane watching it. It was HUNGER GAMES, but adults. (And hopefully less death.) And this was just the start of the journey…as people start to really struggle, it feels like it’s going to get a lot more difficult to watch people try desperately to stick it out (or, on the flip side, watch people beg to go home when their family is more concerned about the money). I think I’m out.

(Also, they’re competing for $250,000?! That’s not even life-changing money when it’s split, and you could ruin your familial relationships forever.)
