FBI: John Boyd Teases Insight Into Scola’s Military School Past in ‘Unearth’

“Unearth” – After two jurors for a high-profile mafia trial are gunned down, the team jumps into an organized crime investigation until it is discovered that the jurors may not have been the intended targets at all. The case becomes personal for Scola when he learns that one of his former drill instructors from the military academy he attended may be linked, on FBI, Tuesday, Feb. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). When two jurors in a mafia trial are killed on the Tuesday, February 25 episode of FBI, the team is enlisted to discover what’s going on…and they realize the case is considerably more complex than they anticipated.
“We’re doing a really interesting episode about Scola’s upbringing,” John Boyd, who plays Scola, tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. “We find out that Scola went to a military school upstate; that he had behavioral issues as a kid. You find out about some history and that’s related to the case.”
In “Unearth,” Scola realizes that one of his former drill instructors from the school could be tied to the case they’re working on.
“It’s really powerful…it’s a really, really heavy, heavy Scola episode that I’m really excited about,” Boyd notes. “That’s just totally new territory for the character. There’s a real maturity level. He’s able to be, as a father and as a partner…more grown-up. And it’s a more grown-up storyline. And I’m really excited about it, and really proud of it, too.”
