FBI OA Gemma hostage train

“Hitched” – When a passenger train is hijacked and rerouted while at high speed with an unarmed OA and Gemma on board, the team races to wrest control away from the unhinged perpetrators and prevent a catastrophe, on FBI, Tuesday, March 11 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). OA’s (Zeeko Zaki) planned romantic surprise trip for Gemma (Comfort Clinton) takes a dark turn on the Tuesday, March 11 episode of FBI, “Hitched,” as the duo find themselves trapped on a hijacked train.

“OA definitely gets caught unprepared in this scenario,” Zaki previews to Give Me My Remote. “He leaves his gun at home—we’re just supposed to go off the grid and go on vacation. But nothing in this world goes as it’s planned. And we’re kind of off to the races on a high-stakes, high-speed runaway train. It’s pretty exciting.”

Though OA faces danger every day working as a federal agent, being in a hostage situation with Gemma changes how he approaches the situation.

“It was really exciting to get to play a high-stakes moment, but not at work, [instead] in my personal life,” he continues. “It was his action movie that we get to kind of shoot that kind of falls back on more traditional Liam Neeson-style moments. And it’s all of that: It’s the relationship with Gemma, and the stakes of being in that situation with your partner—and not your FBI partner—and things like that.”

“So it’s just a really cool opportunity, I think, for the character and for the show to kind of show a different world,” he continues. “[To] show us in life and death situations, and how they kind of follow us around [outside of work].”

The (accidental) mix of work and his personal life comes after his boss, Isobel (Alana De La Garza), warned about the importance of keeping those two worlds separate. (Isobel also revealed during the talk she had kept things so separate that she had gotten married—and now had stepkids—and never told her colleagues.) But what did OA take from that pep talk?

“I think what he takes away from that moment is…we’re just sharpening the tools, and we’re learning as we’re going, and it’s just a nice opportunity to sort of just get better at compartmentalizing,” Zaki says. “One of the biggest challenges for agents in the real world, and in these shows, is keeping that separation and keeping your emotions at bay when things sort of trigger you personally. And I think it’s just a nice kind of marker to just see if we can get better at that and handle things a little differently moving forward. And I’m excited to sort of implement that into future moments when we come across that subject.”

FBI, Tuesdays, 8/7c, CBS
