On the Thursday, April 3 episode of FOUND, things get dangerous at M&A when a father makes a drastic move to try and get the team to help him reunite with his son.

While the hour is gripping and emotional, it is special for an off-screen reason, too: Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who plays Sir, directed it. (Gosselaar previously directed episodes of FRANKLIN & BASH, MURDER IN THE FIRST, and SAVED BY THE BELL.)

“Oh my gosh, we have such talented actors—except for one, I’m not gonna say who that is,” Gosselaar jokes to Give Me My Remote in the video below, as his co-star Shanola Hampton (who plays Gabi) laughs. “They know who they are, so I don’t really need to say it here.”

“But it is a really special show,” he continues, getting serious. “It was one of the most difficult shows I’ve had to direct. We have a lot that’s on the page, a lot gets shot, and a lot is seen by the audience. And I think that’s why they’ve come to watch the show every week, and why we’re doing a second season. So it was just a pleasure. It was a pleasure and honor. I really enjoyed my time and I think it’s gonna be a great episode. I look forward to, hopefully, doing it next year.”

“And he worked with the best number one he’s ever worked with,” Hampton adds, jokingly pushing for Gosselaar to agree.

“Whatever my number one says, I agree with,” he deadpans. “Yes, yes.”

Hampton, who also is an actress-director, did get serious when praising Gosselaar’s step behind the camera here. “He was a fantastic director,” she says. “Fantastic. I loved working with [him].”

Plus, watch Arlen Escarpeta (who plays Zeke) give his thoughts about his co-stars directing and his own hopes to follow in their path.
