AMERICAN IDOL has set its first four contestants who will compete in the Top 24.
After the remaining singers competed in the “Showstopper” round on Sunday, April 6—where they got no immediate feedback from the judging panel—one group got good news. Mattie Pruitt, Zaylie Windsor, Gabby Samone, and Canaan James Hill were informed by the judges that they had advanced directly to the Top 24, meaning they would get to sit out the next stage of the competition. (Hill previously was awarded a Platinum Ticket.)
For the remaining contestants, they’ll have to face off for the final 20 spots on Monday, April 7 with head-to-head battles. But they’ll have some help: Jelly Roll made his debut at the end of the “Showstopper” episode as he was introduced as the show’s first artist in residence.
Gabby Samone:
Do you think the judges made the right choice in who made the Top 24?
