“Lineage” – When a famous rapper and two teen fans are gunned down on his tour bus, the team discovers there may be more to the story than his feud with another rapper. Meanwhile, Isobel hits a major milestone that has her contemplating her future at the Bureau, on FBI, Tuesday, April 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs). FBI surprised viewers earlier this season when Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille (Alana De La Garza) casually revealed to OA (Zeeko Zaki) that she had secretly gotten married (and now had stepkids) as she was warning the other agent about keeping his personal life out of work.

And if fans didn’t see that twist coming, they weren’t alone.

“I was shocked to learn Isobel was married. I [did] a double-take at the script, for sure,” De La Garza tells Give Me My Remote via email. “I learned on set actually as people were reading. They were coming to ask me if I’d read it. It’s always fun to have a new storyline.”

Isobel’s husband, Phillip (Tom Cavanagh), makes his on-screen debut with the Tuesday, April 8 episode, “Lineage,” as the CBS drama showcases a bit of the newlyweds’ home life.

“I think Phillip represents what we all hope to have at home,” De La Garza notes. “Comfort, love and stability. That safe person who has your back always.”

But there’s trouble ahead: Isobel has to contend with a perp from her past coming back into play in “Lineage,” while she also ponders what her own future might hold.

“I think Isobel is at a point in her life where she is measuring her fulfillment differently,” De La Garza previews. “She is asking herself what she wants out of life. She has a soft side but she is a fierce protector through and through.”

FBI, Tuesdays, 8/7c, CBS
