Ingrid’s (Eve Harlow) worlds collide on the Sunday, April 13 episode of WATSON when her sister Gigi’s (Kiera Allen) health takes a turn—and Ingrid needs her colleagues to help.

“I think that this is the first time when you see Ingrid in a space of real desperation and juggling several things at once,” Harlow tells Give Me My Remote. “Obviously, [with] every medical mystery, she’s very intrigued by [the case], but this is the first time where she’s involved on a very personal level. And I think this is also the only time that you will see her at this space because Gigi is the only person that matters to her in this way.”

As Ingrid tries desperately to keep her colleagues on Watson’s (Morris Chestnut) team from finding out her true connection to Gigi (because it would risk her job and Gigi’s treatment), she’s “juggling several different faces,” Harlow previews. “The professional face and the vulnerable face that is only there for this one person—and how do you hide that behind that and the secret, right? Because everything that she’s doing is so illegal. And to her, there aren’t any moral, ethical implications [to what] she’s doing…she knows that this is wrong and that if anybody finds out this is all going to shatter, and she can’t have that happen. So it’s just a lot of variables in play and a lot of things to juggle. And, again, there’s just a desperation that we have not seen before.”

Helping on the case is Mary (Rochelle Aytes), who also gets more involved with Watson’s team now that she told her ex about the miscarriage she experienced in his absence. “For me, I was so happy to read the following episodes coming up, not even [just] this one, but towards the end of the show—I was so excited to see Mary a part of the team,” Aytes says. She’s going to be one hundred percent a part of the team. It’s not just going to be Mary on the side with Watson. Something tragic happens, and decisions will have to be made, lives will be threatened, and she’s going to be one hundred percent a part of that, helping to save lives. Which is going to be really exciting.”

“[But] even in this episode, working with Ingrid, Gigi, I love how they’ve written a story where you get to see Mary’s past and her present and how it collides together,” she continues.

With the show utilizing flashbacks in “Take a Family History,” viewers will also meet a younger version of Ingrid, too.

“My joke with the showrunner, Craig [Sweeny], is that Ingrid’s move [to get in character], it’s the bangs and hands in pockets of the blazers,” Harlow says with a laugh. “Like, that’s Ingrid. And so he was like, ‘Okay, cool. So whoever plays the younger version of you, you just have to show them how to put [their] hands in pockets.’ I was like, ‘Cool, cool. Great.’”

“But I think the truth is, for Ingrid, there was the person that she was before Gigi’s accident and the person that she became after, right?” she continues. “After the accident, all of a sudden, there’s a very clear trajectory that’s placed in front of her of what is her mission? Her mission is to get Gigi back to the way she was before; it’s to get Gigi back to walking…I’ve had several events, personally, in my life where there was a person that I was before, and then something occurred, and then it just shifted things inside of me. Obviously the kernel, who you are, kind of always stays the same, but at the same time, [there’s] a very drastic shift of the way that you see things. And I think that that’s exactly what this moment is for Ingrid: She was a child before, and then this event dictated who she would be for the rest of her life, basically. And this is exactly what happened, right? There’s one mission in front of her, and that is to save Gigi, to get things back to the way they were…She is taking responsibility.”
