CHICAGO FIRE: Dermot Mulroney Previews the ‘Tense, Very Cinematic’ Return of Boden in ‘Post-Mortem’

Boden (Eamonn Walker) returns to CHICAGO FIRE on the Wednesday, April 16 hour, “Post-Mortem,” but it’s not exactly a joyful reunion on-screen.
“He comes in as a special investigator to investigate his own ex-house and their new boss, Pascal,” Dermot Mulroney, who plays Pascal, tells Give Me My Remote in the video below. (Notably, Pascal replaced Boden as Firehouse 51’s boss.) “There’s a major, massive, super call that night, fire incident, house fire, where something goes really wrong. So it becomes something that the department has to look into. And, by golly, the writers put it in where it’s Boden coming back and he’s the inquisitor.”
“So it’s a really tense, very cinematic episode,” he continues. “[‘Post-Mortem’] really felt like A FEW GOOD MEN, RASHOMON, all this really, really strong mixture of movies that view a single event from several different viewpoints. They run one of those by us and it’s just a great, great script, great episode.”

And while things may get tense with the characters, off-screen the actors at least had fun together.
“Well, Dermot and I, we had a great time working with each other,” Walker previously told GMMR. “I don’t know if Boden and Pascal will say the same thing. But I’ve been an admirer of his work for a long, long time, so I was looking forward to working with him.”
