Report: CHICAGO FIRE’s Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett to Exit

CHICAGO FIRE’s Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett will not return to the NBC drama if it gets renewed for season 14, Deadline reports.

Reps for the show declined to comment.

Kyri, who plays Darren Ritter, joined the series in season 7, moving from recurring to series regular.

Ahead of reaching his 100th episode in season 12, he marveled at his run with the series. “It is really wild to me,” he said at the time. “That I will have done 100 episodes of anything, let alone this amazing show that gave me this incredible opportunity…I don’t know what I’m going to do yet [to commemorate it].”

Kyri confirmed his exit on Instagram, posting a Story that shared the original Deadline article and writing: “I’ll miss this character, and it’s time to move on Thank you to the cast, crew, & the awesome fans”

Lockett, who plays Carver, joined the series in season 11. He was made a regular going into season 13.

Update, Monday, April 28: Lockett addressed his exit on Instagram, writing (alongside a BTS video of production), “While I don’t exactly know what the future looks like, I do know that it won’t be exactly what it was and I am going to miss the hell out of that. So much pride in this journey.

It’s been an honor bringing Sam to life and to every one of you, thank you for the love and support over the past three years.

And most importantly, the people that I was on the ground with day and night… thank you for the family you are and times you have been and will be there for me.”
