SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: Robert De Niro Returns as Robert Mueller to Bid Farewell to Kate McKinnon’s Jeff Sessions

Between the midterm elections and the firing of Jeff Sessions, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE had plenty of options for how to open its November 10 episode.
But with Kate McKinnon’s impression of the former Attorney General serving as one of the show’s go-tos, the writers opted to bring it out one last time…and they brought back Robert De Niro as Special Counsel Robert Mueller to see her off.
In the cold open, McKinnon’s Sessions asked De Niro’s Mueller whether he was in the reporter the Special Counsel was working on—and whether Trump was also mentioned.
