Let’s talk about Thursday’s TV!

THE BIG BANG THEORY: With all due respect to Sheldon…he should definitely not be doing interviews. At least not interviews where he doesn’t have an element of control over the angle.

It wasn’t the first time this hit me, but we’re nearing the end of THE BIG BANG THEORY, and I’m very curious how they’ll wrap it up. A kind of traditional ending would be with a big event (Raj’s wedding would fit, if they end up reconciling him with his fiance), but the series has notoriously been more lax about planning things out in the past. But it’s always a bit bittersweet when you reach the near-end of a series and realize every move could have a large impact on how everything ultimately ends.

THE ORVILLE: While the simulation room led to some visuals we can’t unsee, the underlying issue of how technology could impact a relationship was fascinating. In a world where you can conjure anything—or anyone—how would that impact your marriage and responsibilities, especially when things aren’t going the way you envisioned? (Or when you were still kind of pissed your spouse strong-armed you into modifying the gender of your child so they could fit in better with society.) Honestly, it’s almost more of a surprise that more relationships in that era aren’t having similar problems.
