THE ORVILLE: Halston Sage Exits

THE ORVILLE has said goodbye to an original cast member: a rep for the series confirms that “Home” was Halston Sage’s final episode (as a regular) with the sci-fi show.

Sage played Alara, the (alien) Chief of Security on the Orville. Alara returned to her home planet in the Thursday, January 10th episode, as she found herself weakening aboard the ship. The episode was a big one for the character, as she reunited with her family—and saved them from attackers.

Though she was close with her crewmates the opportunity also reminded Alara of how much time she had missed with them. (Especially now that her family was aware of how special she was.) So rather than return to space, she opted to stay with her parents and sister…after sharing an emotional goodbye with her former crew.

Though Sage could return to THE ORVILLE in a guest capacity, her next turn on television is a bit more clear: she’s guest starring on the January 20th episode of CBS’ MAGNUM P.I.
