About Last Night…THE FLASH, MASTERCHEF JUNIOR, and THE VOICE
April 24, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
THE FLASH: Anyone else waiting for that icicle to break mid-hug? Just me? But of course Caitlin’s father died basically as soon as he turned back to normal.
It’s a bummer Nora turned evil, because it felt like she slipped into the trope of obnoxious teen child that TV shows often can’t shake. So, your dad got pissed that you lied to him for MONTHS and worked with someone who altered the entire course of his life…that seems entirely reasonable.
MASTERCHEF JUNIOR: These cuts felt the harshest. Poor Brielle FORGOT THE TUNA? Also, Reid’s decision to use tuna as the centerpiece item felt cruel. Yes, cheese would have been way too easy, but tuna felt really mean. Not to mention a) one kid couldn’t eat it without getting ill and b) another had such a severe fish allergy that it could kill her. What a brutal challenge.
THE VOICE: For as little control as the producers had over the live performance, it felt like they manipulated the results in a less fun way. I didn’t love all of the results—I wish Kelly Clarkson’s trio stuck around; it wasn’t a great performance this week, but they were unique—but it’ll be interesting to see how this changes the live shows.
