AGENTS OF SHIELD: Clark Gregg Teases the ‘Twisted Ramification’ of the Sarge and May Showdown
June 14, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
After near-misses and teases, Sarge (Clark Gregg) and May (Ming-Na Wen) share significant screen time on the Friday, June 14 episode of AGENTS OF SHIELD.
“You would think, given our history and how much I look like her ex, that she would have hesitated briefly before trying to kill me,” Gregg joked to reporters. “Unless this was some kind of lethal foreplay that those two people did.”
Given Coulson (Gregg) and May’s complicated history—and the long road it took for the duo to get together prior to his death between seasons—her interactions with his (evil) double are charged.
“All I can say is they did not shy away from every twisted ramification of what that showdown could be,” Gregg said. “Lou Diamond Phillips directed an incredible episode where we get a little bit of ‘Coulson/May After Dark’ flashbacks to Tahiti intermixed with some very different stuff.”
