THE FLASH Boss Eric Wallace Teases a ‘Season of Thrills and Chills’

While the ARROWverse’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be a major factor in The CW’s DC series this winter, the impact of that storyline will make its way into the shows well before the actual arc airs.

“What it’s made us do is make the villain’s agenda burn so much hotter than it has in previous seasons,” THE FLASH boss Eric Wallace explained to reporters in the video below. “By the time you get to ‘Crisis,’ stuff has to really happen.”

“I’m calling this the season of thrills and chills,” he continued. “That’s kind of the marching orders for season 6. There’s a reason for that—what Team Flash is facing with ‘Crisis’ is so sad and poignant and horrific, knowing what could happen. The world might end. What does that do to our heroes? Makes them become more heroic.”

And though the logistics of trying to navigate their own story around a larger narrative that will involve five other shows is complicated (to put it lightly), “I think ‘Crisis’ happening when it’s happening now has turned out to be the biggest blessing for this show possible. What it’s doing for us is we have something that has to be dealt with in the middle of our season…It gave us a season that broke very cleanly into three sections.”
