BLUFF CITY LAW: NBC Not Ordering Additional Season 1 Episodes
October 18, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
BLUFF CITY LAW, the new series starring Jimmy Smits and Caitlin McGee, will wrap up its first season with the originally ordered 10 episodes.
Per Commercial Appeal, who was first to report the news, producers told the cast and crew that filming would wrap later this month when the tenth episode had been completed. (NBC did, seemingly, think about expanding its season pre-launch—the network ordered six additional scripts over the summer.)
A source confirmed the first season will be ten episodes, but a decision has yet to be made about season 2.
NBC has a number of series on the bench for midseason, including MANIFEST, BLINDSPOT, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, and GOOD GIRLS, in addition to new shows like LINCOLN and ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST.
The news comes days after NBC announced that freshman comedy SUNNYSIDE would finish out its (now expanded) first season online.
BLUFF CITY LAW, Mondays, 10/9c, NBC
