LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT Promotes Jamie Gray Hyder

Officer Kat Azar Tamin is sticking around on LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: Jamie Gray Hyder has been promoted to series regular, NBC confirms. Her first official episode as a regular is the Thursday, November 14 hour.

Hyder joined the series—now in its milestone 21st season—in the season premiere, as an undercover Kat helped the team take down Sir Toby (Ian McShane). Kat transferred into SVU a few episodes later, helping to fill the void left by Carisi (Peter Scanavino), who left the 1-6 to become an ADA in the season premiere.

The series also stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish, and Scanavino.

Prior to SVU, Hyder had arcs on TRUE BLOOD and GRACELAND, as well as guest spots on CHICAGO MED, RIZZOLI & ISLES, and BONES. (Hyder also portrayed CALL OF DUTY’s first female lead in the video game CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE.)
