About Last Night….SUPERGIRL, FAMILY GUY, THE ROOKIE, and More
November 18, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
THE SIMPSONS: Monkeysssssss. But, honestly, what a terrifying group trip…I get why Marge would be desperate to belong, but it’s such a weird, awkward group of people. (It is also crazy to think that Marge’s quest for the perfect Insta-worthy wouldn’t have been possible for two-thirds of the series’ run.)
BOB’S BURGERS: Bob and Linda trying so hard to be cool and fit in with non-parent adults was hilariously cringe-y, but the twist that the others thought they were cool when they had to go fix the kids’ mistake and save the day was pretty perfect.
SUPERGIRL: I’m glad Kara knows the truth about Lena, but, yikes, that was painful. Katie McGrath was especially great in the scene, but it feels like the duo can never be the same, and that’s kind of sad.
So, uh, Mitch Pileggi was basically playing X-FILES’ CSM/FRINGE’s Observer, huh?
FAMILY GUY: I’m hit/miss on homage trilogy episodes, but this felt like one of the better recent ones. And a whole lot of YES to “Romeo and Juliet” being SO creepy!
THE ROOKIE: So many guest stars! I enjoyed the episode, even though it was all over the map—a consequence of it feeling like they were trying to give every story equal weight. (And I’m glad they didn’t pull a twist and have Alan Tudyk‘s character be secretly evil.)
I don’t begrudge anyone money, but holy product placement in that first scene.
