CHICAGO FIRE Boss on a Job Shift and New Hookup

[Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Wednesday, January 8 episode of CHICAGO FIRE.]

CHICAGO FIRE’s Severide (Taylor Kinney) survived his latest brush with death…and is now back at Firehouse 51.

But while that may be exactly what he wanted, OFI isn’t exactly done with him. “Although he is out of the Office of Fire Investigation at the end of this episode, that doesn’t mean that he’s out of Seager’s life or Seager is out of his life,” CHICAGO FIRE boss Derek Haas teases. “Andy Allo, who played Seager, I really liked. Plus, she was really talented and brought different flavor to the Severide scenes. Who can blame her? Severide was really good at his job and I’m sure was more exciting than her typical days in the OFI office. So she’s gonna keep trying to bring him back in.”

However, while Casey (Jesse Spencer) was quick to point out that Seager was eying Severide—and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) was concerned about her boyfriend’s former colleague, “it’s less of a triangle and more of an irritant,” Haas notes.

But love is, reluctantly, in the air for Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Gallo (Alberto Rosende), whose long-simmering (off-screen) tension led to the duo hooking up…while claiming it would be a one-time thing.

“Yeah, it’s not going to be a one-time thing,” Haas says with a laugh. “Even though both of them keep saying that. But sparks will continue to fly.”
