PRODIGAL SON Bosses Tease the Season 1 Finale: ‘No One is Going to See it Coming’

As PRODIGAL SON heads into the final episode of its freshman year, Bright (Tom Payne) is backed into a corner as the main suspect in a murder. (In his defense, if he had done it, it wouldn’t have been out of nowhere: Eddie killed Bright’s girlfriend and nearly killed Bright’s father.)

“I think that for people who watched our penultimate episode and thought this was a gangbusters crazy episode of television, it’s nothing compared to the insanity we’re about to unleash onto America with our finale,” PRODIGAL SON co-creator Chris Fedak previews. “[‘Like Father…’] is just chock full of thrills and murder and still enough jokes to keep a smile on your face.”

“We are very excited,” co-creator Sam Sklaver adds. “We feel the last three minutes of our finale are some of the craziest television [scenes] to be on the air this year. We cannot wait for the fans to see what we have in store for Bright, because no one is going to see it coming—and no one is going to believe it when they do.”

A little bit less of a cliffhanger is the show’s future. “We’re cautiously optimistic [about a second season],” Fedak says. “We feel good about where we are. The network and studio have been very supportive of the show. Right now, there’s a number of extra factors that are playing out, so we’re just waiting.”
