NBC Renews ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST

NBC has renewed ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST for a second season, the network announced. The musical series stars Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, and Mary Steenburgen.

“We were overwhelmed by the number of people who fell in love with ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST and how much joy it brought to everyone. We’re thrilled to bring it back and can’t wait to see how Zoey’s journey continues,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment in a statement.

After the heartbreaking first season finale, Austin Winsberg shared that there likely would be a bit of a time jump between seasons.

“I think if we were to come back right after [Mitch] passed away, that…it might land in that category of feeling too emotional, too sad, too heavy,” he said at the time. “And I still want there to be some light and optimism. So I think probably some passage of time would be a good idea.”
