About Last Night…GAME ON! and AGENTS OF SHIELD
June 25, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
GAME ON!: I felt bad for Venus when that snake came out. As she pointed out, she wasn’t even the one who was so slow on the final obstacle course. But, also, that final course looked like so much fun? I don’t know how well I’d handle it, but it felt like the retro Nickelodeon game shows where kids had to do bonkers things and I really wanted to try it. (Kind of like a GUTS and LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE mashup.)
AGENTS OF SHIELD: Considering I’ve seen Patrick Warburton on so many shows—not to mention his voice over work—it’s definitely a sign of the times that when he popped up, my first thought was his Soarin’ Over California video from California Adventure. This pandemic is bringing out weird thoughts.
But, man, my heart broke when Mack saw his parents and opted to torpedo SHIELD’s mission. (I’m sure this will in no way come back to bite the team in the butt.) And, uh, how worried should we be about Simmons?
On the bright side, Coulson and May’s awkward attempts to converse are bittersweet, but amusing. Hoping they can get on the same page—and, well, May can feel anything—soon.
