FAMILY GUY: Mike Henry Will No Longer Voice Cleveland Brown
June 26, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
FAMILY GUY star Mike Henry will no longer voice Cleveland Brown, he announced via Twitter.
“It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on FAMILY GUY for 20 years,” he wrote. “I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role.”
Cleveland, one Peter’s (Seth MacFarlane) best friends, has been a consistent presence on FAMILY GUY and was spun off to his own show, THE CLEVELAND SHOW.
Henry voices a number of other characters on FAMILY GUY, including Herbert, Bruce, and Consuela.
