HAMILTON: Watch the Best (Non-Show) Performances Over the Years

A filmed version of Broadway’s HAMILTON is coming to Disney+ on Friday, July 3, but over the past five years, the Tony-winning show has been everywhere, from Carpool Karaoke to THE TONIGHT SHOW to THE SIMPSONS.

Of course, the original cast has done their version of the iconic songs—and some of the lesser known numbers—dozens of times off-stage over the years. Here are a few of the best performances…

More than 5 years before the musical hit Broadway, Lin-Manuel Miranda performed what would go on to become the show’s opening number, “Alexander Hamilton”…at the White House.

The HAMILTON cast reunited on John Krasinski’s SOME GOOD NEWS (via Zoom) to perform “Alexander Hamilton” for a young fan:

In 2018, Miranda released the first version of the song, “Burn,” “First Burn,” as a Hamildrop. Former Elizas Ari Afsar, Julia Harriman, Lexi Lawson, Rachelle Ann Go, and Shoba Narayan collaborated on the heartbreaking, angrier version of Eliza grappling with Alexander’s (many) betrayals:

HAMILTON returned to the White House in 2016 to perform songs from the now-hit show. A highlight? Christopher Jackson and Manuel performing “One Last Time”:

Never seen the show and want to be spoiled? Miranda performed the show in three minutes on a bonus video for Ellen Degeneres’ show:

Off-stage, the production held #Ham4Ham, where fans could see the show’s stars (and often special guests) perform ahead of the nightly ticket lottery. On the final day, Renée Elise Goldsberry performed “Congratulations,” which was cut from the final version of the show:

To help promote the Disney+ film, the cast sang “Helpless”—with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots—on THE TONIGHT SHOW:
