SEAL TEAM Loses a Series Regular

SEAL TEAM will be down a core member in its upcoming fourth season, Give Me My Remote has learned.
Jessica Paré, an original series star, will no longer be a regular on the CBS drama.
Though Paré’s Mandy Ellis was part of the CIA, she spent the first two seasons as the liaison to Bravo Team. After Mandy’s demotion at the end of season 2—due to giving up a CIA asset to save them—she spent last season adjusting to her new role in their world.

Mandy played a key part in the unexpected season 3 finale, “No Choice in Duty,” as Jason (David Boreanaz) came to see his colleague in the episode’s final moments—and the duo shared a passionate kiss. (Filming on SEAL TEAM season 3 was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
While Paré will no longer be a regular, sources say she’ll appear in some episodes of the upcoming fourth season, including the two-hour premiere.
SEAL TEAM stars Boreanaz, Max Thieriot (Clay Spenser), Neil Brown Jr. (Ray Perry), AJ Buckley (Sonny Quinn), and Toni Trucks (Lisa Davis). Spencer Hudnut, Christopher Chulack, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, and Boreanaz are executive producers.
Reps for the show had no comment about Paré’s exit.

Mandy coming back for an episode or two throughout the season. For what? Y’all broke her down mentally, what is she coming back for? Fir the same hook you used her for from the start as a potential squeeze for Jason? Ugh SEAL T. has never really appreciated this character but the fans do. Character betrayal.
So production didn’t have any comment cowards! What the heck she coming back for? This is probably gonna be the last season. Judd ( Blackburn) is now in a recurring role. Really huge disappointment and I haven’t decided if I will continue watching

Sad news, Mandy was a fan favorite, and will be missed…. the chemistry with Jason’s both professionally and personally, was one of a kind and potentially one of the best in a currant series. I cannot imagine cutting a wonderful character like Mandy….
I’m gob smacked… what a terrible thing to do….budget cuts? What? maybe they could have cut the extravagant battle scenes, but to cut our brilliantly beautiful CIA agent Mandy Ellis back to guest is unforgivable…
Mandy was CIA and not military so she was the odd man out… and I guess had to go..great character, the show will not be the same without Mandy Ellis, they better understand that now….

I love the show, I love all the characters, hate to see one of the girls go, but I love looking At those handsome men, they are all sexy and I watch, reruns on demand, I love army shows and seal shows , an this one is really looking more true to life. So please do season 5,6,7,8
Absolutely awful decision. It will not be business as usual she offered a very special dynamic, he relationship with Jason was unique. and had been worked on for 3 seasons. Terrible!
I personally am glad. I never liked her part. She always acted like she was the cats meow. Just my opinion. So don’t go getting all up set. I love Seal Team. My absolute favorite show

Jess Pare played Mandy Ellis perfectly. and has built a large fan base, she will be missed, you would think that the fans deserved an explanation from production.i guess everyone’s expendable… not happy.
Those of us who know what clandestine service means and what these people do for our security, enjoyed watching Jess Pare build her character has been fun, and ST has made a mistake. Terrible decision.

This is a devastating lost. I can’t believe she has been cut like that. This show have made bad decisions since season 3 cutting Mandy out almost completely to leave room for Jason’s relationships with Natalie was one of those. Season 1and 2 were great in part because the relationship of Jason and Mandy in the field they were awesome they separated them the show hasn’t been the same since. Toni Truck is fine but she is not Jessica pare, is irreplaceable. We will missed her and once she is gone I’m gone. I’m not watching Jason go through another fail relationship. 3 seasons 3years for this and for what, no can’t do it. Sorry. Love David Boreanaz watch all 12 seasons of Bones had some disappointments there hope this was gearing to be an epic love story because that’s where we got taken to since season 1 so I’m done with dissapointments. My heart can’t take it. So to Jessica Pare we love you i will watch your episodes and exit the show the day you do. Not sure the show will survive this. Maybe this is the last season.

So many comments in support of Jessicca. I really liked her character, but her being gone will not be a deal breaker for me. Mandy is CIA, and can be reassigned at any time. She lost favor, right or wrong, with her superiors. This is Government!

Actors themselves often choose to leave successful shows. Do we know if that’s the case with Jessica, or if she has been written out by the show? Let’s not jump to conclusions too quickly and condem the show’s producers. I actually didn’t want to see Mandy and Jason get together because they’re both broken and would only get worse IMO. She needs to do something where she’s not having to use and potentially betray people, and Jason needs to finally exercise his demons somehow. That’s my thoughts, right or wrong, doesn’t matter, as I really enjoy the show and feel like it gives many of us non-military types a tiny window in to what a tough life they and their families’ have balancing two personas.

ST has really screwed up, I’ve watched this show for 3 seasons, and the dynamics between Jason/Mandy being the primary reason, really good chemistry…they hooked me, but they are not going to keep me with the same bait, Mandy returning as a guest in unspecified episodes…no!
This is bad news I’m waking up to, not a happy camper and don’t think I’m going to watch with much interest,,if at all…
She gave the series a real civilian point of view. That takes out a huge dimension of the show. What are they thinking? Her character is a real person, relatable, vulnerable, and someone normal people could understand and sympathize with. A bad decision to eliminate this character.

Mandy not being on the show regularly is a huge mistake. I have been a fan of the show since the beginning and this is one of my favorites. Loosing Mandy is a bad move because she is the one woman that understands Jason. The series left off with those two being intimate which I have been waiting for along time and now it just ends. She is a powerful figure on the show and I hate this move. So disappointed.

Production doesn’t have any comment, really!! I am furious, to the point of changing my Wednesday’s night viewing, and I have a feeling that, she will appear as a guest in some episodes in 4, as away if softening the blow, how many? its discretionary, they may or may not, I’m not going to swallow that bait again…
I feel so betrayed, investing time and emotion in a show that has merit, and the wonderful characters that have drawn us in…. but, to lose this beautiful, brilliant, brave character who has added another’s dimension to the show is just about more than I can take….love JP no I feel for her too, this role was a more serious one for her, and not an easy one, but she made Mandy Ellis real, and I am completely bombed.

I’m a BIG fan and love the show. I’ve always thought she was the weakest link! I think Jadon kissing her was lame. Something about her timing was off, she just wasn’t of the same caliber as the rest of the team.
I wish her well, but the show will be better without her.
Awful news, great job by JP and she has a lot of followers, DB will carry the show because his loyalists, see him as their own personal guy, no one is good enough, and he does no wrong, but believe me this is gonna hurt the show.it is now one dimensional….
I really liked Mandy and considered her a key element in the best storylines. She’ll definitely be missed. If it was her choice to leave, perhaps for other commitments, then best wishes. If she was asked to leave, then once again we see showrunners demonstrating just how stupid and feckless they can be. And having no comment? Just a bunch of big dopes…
Seal Team, like The Last Ship, was fun and riveting to watch. There’ll be a big hole to fill when it wraps.
Many commenters are assuming she was cut against her will, but we don’t know. She may have asked for a reduced roll for personal reasons. The fact that she will return occasionally shows that she is still in good terms with producers. I just hope Seal Team continues with the same types of plots and stories. I used to be a big fan of The Unit, but that show devolved into a soap opera more each season. Now THAT was sad. As long as ST stays true to the types of episodes that made them great they will be OK.
Jess Pare did not ask for this in fact she was devasted…and shame on ST she added so much to the show…

Looks like Judd ( Blackburn) and Mandy took the hits as far as screen time, Judd is now recurring and Mandy guest… ouch, two of the best characters on the show get gut punched….it was not JPs idea, any more than it was Judds,to cut their credits…ST will not gain any much needed fans for this decision in fact the opposite…

Good grief people! I have been a loyal watcher/fan since day one and I will continue to be a fan(as long as Sonny, Clay and Jason remain). I love the dynamics of all the personalities and will miss her character but definitely not at the expense of not following the show anymore. I am very happy to see it’s been renewed for another season, “whew”!!! Cannot wait to start watching it again.
Sorry to see her character leave, but I won’t be leaving with her. I enjoy the show too much to give up on it because an actress/actor, for whatever reason, is no longer part of it.
The characters, the stories, the authenticity, the dog! are reasons I watch. From what I’ve read, the show does a lot for veterans and I believe that is worth supporting.

Yes, l will most definitely miss mandy (Jessica Pare’) whether she decided to leave on her own or was booted from the show. She played a smart CIA operative and expert on Middle East issues and culture. Her evolving relationship with Jason was a minor subplot, not really the main thrust she brought to the team. Bad for the show imo, but maybe good for Jessica.

I am and 100%disabled Vietnam Veteran. The Seal team show was wonderful just the way it was why would you ruin a good thing. She was and very important part of the chemistry your company had going. I survey from from severe PTSD depression and watching a show like this made me feel good even during times that members lost their lives during episodes. No matter what I will always love this show it is my favorite just whatever you do do Not get ride of any of the ones on the show in uniform please, and please have them dress in uniform correctly I don’t know why but it bugs me when they don’t like when davis wore a ponytail and not a bun with her hair. Mandy was retoriat,a good and a true thinker when it comes to get the bad guys ….I really admired her BUT what the seals is giving back after her saving them is not fair

Wow, Hollywood never cease to amaze me…. bumping Mandy Ellis back to guest, is without a doubt one of the worst ideas to come from a production team… they have teased and created a great relationship between Mandy and Jason on all levels, for 3 seasons…. and just about the tim it’s to go somewhere they jerk the rug out… somthqt tells me her character was created for that propose and I resent being manipulated….
What’s going on at ST? Dont blame COVID I understand the challenges that brings to everyone not just tv production…. this began in early season 3. remember, Mandy’s demotion to interrogator after saving the team, one in which she was supposedly to be so much happier, yeah that one!! Production began pushing her aside and bringing her back….. so I may confused I think they are about to go off the rail …terrible way to treat one of the best, and least supported characters on the show….
IM really irritated about this ST pilot began a relationship between Bravo1. and the CIA Analyst for theteam Mandy Ellis…. they share service, sacrifice and trust, FF to Season 3. she’s sort of pushed aside in her new gig…as interrogator and he slides into all kinds of issues that morph into other issues that end up in an affair with his doctor.soem good scenes with mandy but not as many, FF to the end of 3. theybend the seasonnwith a passionate kiss, this relationship can be so good for these two but looks like no, they gonna find a way to screw it up again, and I’m in for 1-2 but tentative for the rest because I’m worn out with it,..

I’ve already missed Mandy as CIA Liason, she was supposed to have a less stressful job and life too…. but you see where that went….down that dark twisty path to mental,trauma..so I’ve been upset with production since the beginning of 3. I do have my limits…
Breaking Mandy down is a way for them to either ease her out or allow her to take a different path, back to Jason, it had the potential to become one of the most compelling love stories in a TV series, like the chaplain asked in the the trailer what do you leave behind, and take away, she definitely should be what he takes away, the only woman who really understands him, because she’s walked in his shoes….I would venture to guess that JP makes more money than TT as a reason to drop her to guest….

what it is. ‘Power’ killed off its main character which was a huge mistake. The show sucks really hard now and nobody watches anymore. Looks like Seal Team is soon to follow.
Taking Mandy Ellis out of the equation is a travesty, and will affect the entire dynamics of the team…. terrible decision…. probably gonna be a last season….
This news really upsets me, not entirely surprised Mandy seems to be the only character who suffers long lasting consequence, for her transgressions, oh and Ray, the rest just get a little reprimand or 6 wks somewhere else… and back to business as usual..

I really hope that she is listed as guest to get through the COVID. Altered season, it’s probably a budget issue, but Mandy is and has been a wonderful asset to ST and it’s would be such a character and fan betrayal to treatvher any other way….. Mandy’s every bit as dedicated courageous brave as Bravo.
Pity show runners couldn’t be a little bit more up front with people, they are ambiguous, an it’s annoying, but they started a bit of a mutiny among fans… the majority dont like the idea of Mandy being almost gone….I’m not hanging around another season like last… they need to get Mandy and Jason on a path of some happiness and a future to gether, they’ve used it for 3 seasons, the charm and patience are running out…
Did it ever occur to you that maybe SHE made the decision to leave? Keep saying how the producers are at fault…and nobody knows the real reason. Shows lose great actors/actresses all the time, and some times it’s not the shows idea nor something they can control
I hate to see Mandy/JP lose any time or episodes, I know budgets have been cut, and conditions are difficult but so goes our world right now. I cannot imagine production, building the special connection between Jason and Mandy, culminating in a passionate kiss that took 64 episodes, and trashing it, that genie is out of the bottle, and they should give it the storyline it deserves…. a good one to explore the other side of a lifetime of service and sacrifice, love and loss….a positive note, some stupid abrupt ending for Mandy is not acceptable… and I’ll be gone…
i doubt this was Jess pares idea, makes no sense, why would she give up a regular role on a series? They reconfigured the cast… it may have been the only way to keep her, and im not happy but at least she will be in some episodes….
Most of you have neither been in combat or have any real idea of what’s going on. SHE cannot be a regular part because of a relationship. That’s the main reason that sonny and Lisa has to keep quiet even before she went to OCS. She will come back as his girlfriend, or love interest.
That is so wrong. She is the glue that keeps this series at top ratings. Please don’t screw up your success. Please reconsider. Season 5 would be a gamble without Jessica Pare.
Jess Pares, Mandy Ellis is a super intriguing absolutely brilliant CIA analyst who has fallen on hard times, since she saved the team… they have been sliding her into the abyss…. sure hope the guest episodes are often because the show is not the same without her….
Definitely miss Mandy, missed her last season when they monkeyed around with her character, and she missed several episodes, didn’t like it then and like it less now.
Season 1-2, was really good for her but she took a hit when she saved the team…and hasn’t recovered, she is their go to character for gut punching…..an dthe huts keep coming…

What the hell are they thinking? Mandy is a great character, even though I have noticed that she loses ground and Davis keeps gaining ground, and is not as convincing as Mandy…. so what gives?
Writing for Jess/Mandy began to slide last year to,the point of me FF much of some of the episodes… it seemed her character has taken the hit…in more ways than one, for the promotion of TT/Davis…. and the horrendous affair with one of Jason’s medical team. Siege Protocol. and Fog of War… were her and Judds best episodes…sad, because she was a fan favorite, and we don’t know how many episodes she will,guest in …… not good…..
Yes, I will miss Mandy, she’s been understated from the beginning and is the unsung hero of the show….a huge part of the attraction will be gone….

I didn’t believe this at first. I will miss Mandy on ST, and the hole may be too big to fill. Some episodes in 4. That doesn’t tell me anything very reassuring. I’m really annoyed.

Best female character on the show and they wanna vanish her away ? If this is true it’s not cool. I hope it’s not true considering nobody on the show has made an official statement yet. Mandy’s character is a very important part of the show and she’s the only character that gets Jason and the only one Jason trusts enough to vent. Fingers crossed it’s not true.
Brilliant, beautiful, most underrated bad ass on the show….is one Mandy Ellis….she stole our hearts and won our admiration. 3 season invested in a professional and personal relationship between her and Jason, andits all for nothing JP deserves better and so so her fans, feeling duped

This is an absolute HORRIBLE decision…. Mandy was my favorite character with Jason and I had high hopes for them to get together for the long haul… Shame on ST for doing this… Jessica is a fabulous actress and deserves better than this…. To me, the show won’t be worth watching like it was as my favorite scenes were always with her… WRONG DECISION ST….

Seriously, CIA agent Mandy Ellis has it all brilliant, brave, dedicated, beautiful, and fun to watch, especially the relationship she and Bravo 1. have developed over time, from the beginning to the present, finally culminating in Jason with deliberation walking to her hooch and kissing her….. is this going to be treated like his other flings? The news of JP guesting in some episodes in 4. is disheartening, and not a good sign for the show overall……
A big resounding BOOOOO, ST, CBS, Mandy Ellis is a great character brilliantly played by Jessica Pare. Shame on you!
No word from production on this decision, I guess we don’t deserve an explanation, they live and work in an insulated bubble, and we supposed to roll with the punches as it’s an authentic look into military life..it’s characters and fan betrayal….and we deserve better. Not cool!!
busting Jess Pare back to guest position on ST was a bad executive decision, she did a great job of making Mandy Ellis her own.. I saw signs in 3. that led me to believe they would find a way to efff it up, and remarked in kind to a friend …. well they did….
I will miss Mandy Ellis CIA analyst/interrogator extraordinaire without whose expertise Bravo team would have been killed, but her job is at great personal sacrifice, as is Jason’s, I have to hope that her guests episodes address and expand her and Jason’s wonderful relationship, as they mend and find a life outside their respective professions…where Jason and B.1. merge and he finds he can fall in love again….
It was the only way this is tolerable is if Mandy and Jason get together and work on a future together, otherwise it’s a deal breaker
Jessica is my favorite character. Bring her back on all episodes.
This will most likely be the last season, you can’t just take away a great character like Mandy Ellis without it hurting the show..they better not wait long to bring her back as a guest or im gone, maybe gone anyway

I think this is a bad move. these types of moves are series destroyers like what happened with Game of thrones. Bad directing and bad decisions. shows are made for us not for the directors. tell us what is going on and don’t be tit.

Im a bit confused by this, end of 3. There is a passionate kiss after 66+ episodes of hints, nuance and teasing, now Mandy is suddenly a guest, for 4. She was a great character and her and Jason’s chemistry kept me watching…. now it’s over just like that with some guest appearances, are you f— kidding me ? Suicide…
Wth? Mandy will be missed but I saw the signs last season, she is a great character but she’s is CIA not military, and has always been an outsider. I guess the relationship she had with Jason for all 3 seasons, one that kept many of us coming back is over, and she’s been reduced to a guest spot….nice going ST
If this is true it’s a terrible loss for fans, Mandy was always underrated but her presence was impactful. Davis does not command the role of CIA agent Mandy Ellis, not to mention the intriguing and beautiful relationship with Jason. Definitely a thumbs down

I’m really confused, why would production sideline one of the best characters on the show? Guest, in some episodes, are you freaking kidding me? Mandy/JP has been a key player since the first episode. Looks like the beginning of the end
I’m really not happy about this either. I’ve looked forward to them exploring the Jason and Mandy angle since the season ended and now to have it go this way is just horrible. She’s a huge part of the show and it’s not right and she I loved the story of her interactions with Davis. I pray they will still use her but even with a shortened season I don’t know they will. I just hope the show isn’t making too big changes.
ST. is on the way out, the move to remove JP/Mandy to guest, bring back Natalie, is the single worst decision of a production team in recent memory. I think they are keeping her for the sole purpose of teasing a relationship, the kiss was just a deployment thing. I will watch 3 eps and I’m basically done with the show. Sad too because it was good. Don’t blame COVID blame shitty writing!
I just saw the trailer for the new ST. Natalie’s back, Judd/Blackburn had been cast down to recurring. JP/Mandy has been cast down to guest. The kiss is in the wind, I’m more than irritated, don’t understand why they did this to Mandy one of the best characters in the show, the long connection between her and Jason has been trashed, and he’s back with Natalie, what a betrayal, fan and character.

Just looked at some promo pics and I saw Natalie in Jason’s apartment, with him and Cerberus, what the hell are they doing? Trying to run off some viewers, Mandy us a guest on some eps. I don’t understand. Mandy has one of the best parts on the show. No happy!
I do not like the sound of where this season is going… the producers/writers didn’t think they built up Mandy and Jason for the last three seasons…really? To exchange Mandy for Natalie (who I heard will be back) is a travesty. Natalie is a terrible character and there is no chemistry between her and Jason, just cringe. I don’t see how she can be his future. I’m very disappointed. Mandy is the best female character on the show and they’ve been teasing the connection between her and Jason this whole time—a connection that he doesn’t have with any other female character and then to go the complete opposite direction. It’s mindboggling or has the audience just been gaslit?—reading too much into interactions, that simply wasn’t there? (I don’t think so). It’s insulting. I guess we’ll see how the episodes next week lay out Mandy’s depature… hopefully it’s only temporary and not permanately, otherwise I don’t think I’ll be the avid viewer that I was and I have a feeling there will be lots of other fans feeling the same way.
