PRODIGAL SON: Alan Cumming to Guest as an Unexpected Foe

PRODIGAL SON’s Malcolm (Tom Payne) and Ainsley (Halston Sage) may have successfully covered up Nicholas Endicott’s (Dermot Mulroney) death, but trouble may be around the corner.

Alan Cumming will guest star as Simon Hoxley, a celebrated (and cocky) criminal profiler known as “The MindSleuth,” who travels to New York to get to the bottom of Nicholas’ unsolved death. Cumming’s previous TV credits include THE GOOD WIFE and INSTINCT.

As PRODIGAL SON viewers know, Ainsley killed Nicholas at the end of season 1, but blocked out the events in the aftermath—now, she thinks Malcolm killed the man, and disposed of his body, to protect her. But with a new profiler on the horizon, how long will their secret stand?

Cumming is the latest big-name guest star to join PRODIGAL SON season 2, with Christian Borle currently guest starring as a fellow inmate of Malcolm and Ainsley’s serial killer father, Martin (Michael Sheen), and Catherine Zeta-Jones arriving later in the season.

Deadline first reported Cumming’s casting.
