About Last Night…SUPERMAN & LOIS, KENAN, NURSES, and More
February 24, 2021 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
YOUNG ROCK: Okay, I really hope the show sticks with this format going forward. Focusing on a single timeline per episode (outside of the quick glimpses to the future) is the perfect way to tell this story, and allows for it to be a deeper dive than trying to tell competing storylines in three flashbacks.
SUPERMAN & LOIS: The first bit of exposition was tough to get through, but once you got through that, the pilot was gorgeous. I loved the family dynamic—even though it’s weird to see Lois and Clark as parents of teens in a post-CRISIS world—and the cinematography was incredible. I hope the show can maintain its hopeful, loving heart. (And also props for casting a bunch of teens who aren’t the lead characters and aren’t unbearable. So frequently shows fall into obnoxious teen tropes and these kids are just…adjusting.)
But, um, what does that final moment mean?? (For more on the premiere, here’s what the team had to say.)
KENAN: Okay, episode 2 was way, way, way, way better than the pilot. And I’m not just saying it because the Elliot Stabler/dun dun joke made me laugh out loud. Kenan trying to figure out why his wife had a restraining order against her—and it being because she went a little too far trying to get him a car—was lovely.
NURSES: I loved this first season. I’m so happy Grace got some peace, and also that the entire finale wasn’t about her trying to get it—it was also a solid episode, outside of that. Rachel Skarsten was so great as Grace’s patient of the week. And I’m so glad Sinead is getting some help. I know season 2 is happening, and I hope it’s accessible in the US. (For more from Tiera Skovbye on the finale, here’s what she had to say about Grace’s journey and season 2.)
