About Last Night…CHICAGO MED, CHICAGO FIRE, and CHICAGO P.D.
October 21, 2021 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!CHICAGO MED: I know he’s mortifying Dr. Scott, but his dad driving him to work (and then running the sirens) made me laugh out loud.
I’m curious how they utilize Dr. Blake going forward, or if this was it. It was quite an entrance, and she could be a fun addition to the hospital dynamic if they incorporate her more.
Vanessa and those pills, man…
CHICAGO FIRE: Look, I’m sad to lose Casey. I love the character, Jesse Spencer is incredible, and the show will be very different going forward. (But I truly hope he comes back to visit, like he implied he would.)
But if we had to lose him, I loved this episode. It was beautiful idea to go back to the early years to craft his goodbye and really poignant to tie it to the milestone 200th episode. And by foreshadowing it for a bit, the episode got to be about his relationships. I’m going to miss Brett and Casey, but I hope the show can sustain them long distance.
And, good lord, that final scene. I’m going to miss Casey’s relationship with Severide. With Boden.
(AND BABY OTIS. If you made it through that reveal without crying, congrats on that, because how.)
[For more on the episode, here’s what EP Derek Haas and Spencer had to say.]
CHICAGO P.D.: Ohhhh, Atwater. I get why he kept his being a cop quiet at first. But, uh, how long does he think he can keep this secret? It’s one thing if it’s a one-time hookup. It’s even a thing if you keep it quiet during the investigation. But…staying a part of her life? At some point, she’s going to want to meet his friends, who…she has already met.
