MONARCH: The First Family of Country Does ‘What Has to be Done to Protect the Family’ in the New Fox Series Trailer

Think country songs can be dramatic? They have nothing on the Romans, the fictional first family of country who are the center of the new Fox series MONARCH.

The series is “a Texas-sized, multigenerational musical drama about America’s first family of country music. The Romans are fiercely talented, but while their name is synonymous with honesty, the very foundation of their success is a lie. When their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, Nicky Roman, the heir to the crown, already battling an industry stacked against her, will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy.” The show, which is set to feature original and cover songs, stars Susan Sarandon, Anna Friel, Beth Ditto and Trace Adkins.

The series was created by Melissa London Hilfers, with Michael Rauch set to showrun.

The series will debut with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, January 30, immediately following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP, and continuing on Tuesday, February 1.
