FBI: John Boyd Teases a Partner Swap in ‘Fostered’

When FBI returns for its first episode of 2022 (on Tuesday, January 4), the team gets called in to investigate robberies that turn deadly.

“That episode’s really interesting…Maggie and Tiffany team up in that one,” John Boyd, who plays Special Agent Stuart Scola, says of “Fostered.” “They team up, and there’s sort of a gals and guys thing going on. It’s not the entire time, but it’s cool to see them working together. And then there’s some interesting stuff that as Tiffany gets deeper into that case and pulled in, personally, because of her past—Maggie consults with [Tiff’s regular partner] Scola about how we work. So you see Tiff through a different angle, which is another partner.”

As Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and Tiff (Katherine Renee Turner) work together, that leaves their normal partners OA (Zeeko Zaki) and Scola to team up.

“I’m with OA in that one. Unfortunately, I tried to outrun him in a foot race. Absolute disaster,” Boyd recalls with a laugh. “We had to do this huge chase scene and he would let me get ahead, we were running block after block. Zeeko would let me get ahead by like 20 feet and then blow past me. It was so crazy. I’m like, ‘I need to get back to my partner. I’m getting my butt kicked over here.'”

“He very strong, very long legs,” he continues. “But it was great, because I got to go to Missy and commiserate. I was like, ‘This kid is blowing by me. It’s not good for the show. He shouldn’t be that fast, come on.’ And she’s like, ‘I know! He does that to me, too.’ But it was fun. It was really cool to get to do the action stuff with Zeeko in that. It was awesome.”
