FBI: MOST WANTED: Julian McMahon to Exit
January 22, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
FBI: MOST WANTED is undergoing its biggest shakeup yet: Julian McMahon will exit the series later this season, a rep for the show confirmed.
“Over the past few months, the producers of FBI: MOST WANTED and I have had discussions about my departure from the show in favor of additional creative pursuits and the transition of my character Jess LaCroix,” McMahon said in a statement to Deadline, who broke the casting news. “These ongoing conversations have given us an opportunity to orchestrate a seamless and productive way for me to leave the show.”
This marks the second exit at MOST WANTED this season, as Kellan Lutz exited after the premiere. Original series co-star Nathaniel Arcand exited last season, while Alexa Davalos and Miguel Gomez joined the drama over the last two seasons.
“It’s an interesting thing,” McMahon said earlier this season. “When we developed the original core group of the show, this very tight family type thing, I’d always said that there were two families on the show: one was, at that period of time, was Jess’ family, which is Tali, [brother-in-law Clinton,] and everything that grows from that. And then there’s the FBI family, which is the five guys and girls who go out and hunt the bad guys.”
“So we kind of connected on that level; I think we connected on that level as actors, and also as characters,” he continued. “Our show kind of mimics the real life of what we’re doing—these five people spending a lot of time together, traveling to unique locations. So the actual concept of the show suits exactly the way that we shoot the show. And so we develop that kind of relationship, on and off the screen, and then when it starts to change, you realize things.”
McMahon’s final episode is set to air March 8.
