Couch Madness: ‘Gone’ (Group 2)

March 23, 2022 by

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

The first round will run from Wednesday, March 23 through Friday, March 25. Round two will kick off on Monday, March 28, with the final face-off starting Thursday, March 31.

Next up? “Gone.” And with this title we’re doing something different: There are enough shows for two separate brackets. So keep reading for the first bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)

Couch Madness Gone

TRUE BLOOD [“Gone, Gone, Gone”] (1): “With vampire-on-human attacks increasing, the Authority attempts to woo public favor. Meanwhile, Nora tries to convert Eric to Lilith’s gospel. Jason finds a mysterious scroll; Elijah, the new vampire sheriff of Area 5, pushes Pam and Tara to obey a new mandate; Sam and Luna search for Emma; Russell seeks a higher calling.”

vs.

CHICAGO P.D. (8): “The unit scrambles to search for one of its own who is in grave danger.”

NCIS (2): “A kidnapper shoots to death a Navy captain who intervenes; the bad guys get one teenage girl but not the other; both girls are Navy juniors; Gibbs and company investigate, pursue, solve, capture, and recover. Tony joins Ziva and her date.”

vs.

BULL (7): “Bull and the TAC team must call upon all their collective experience to locate Bull’s kidnapped daughter, and the abductor warns them not to go to the police. As Bull works to build the most important psych profile of his life, he begins to suspect the captor is someone connected to his past.”

SUITS (3): “After Louis confesses his wrongdoings in the Forstman deal to Jessica, the firm is forced to go on the offensive against Sean Cahill. But will Harvey be able to save Louis from getting fired, or has Jessica finally had enough?”

vs.

TAKEN (6): “The ODNI is forced to deliver Mejia to the FBI but catch wind of the cartel’s plans to hijack the transfer. As John and Rem work to stall the handover, Bryan takes extreme measures to keep Mejia in his custody. Meanwhile, Asha learns the true identity of her friend Elena.”

SINGLE LADIES (4): “The women cope with grim news about Raquel; Terrence gets harassed by police.”

vs.

BOSCH (5): “Bosch and Edgar are now hot on Joey Marks’s trail. George Irving is pulled deeper into his mission. And Bosch must go to extremes to ensure the safety of those closest to him.”
