LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME: Nona Parker Johnson Previews Nova’s Collision with the Brotherhood
April 7, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
As LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME’s Nova (Nona Parker Johnson) settles into her role as Webb’s (Mykelti Williamson) right hand woman, she has increased power and attention on her—but that could make connecting with her NYPD boss, Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), about the undercover opp a bit more convoluted.
“Since Nova still works for Kilbride, to a degree, as well…we’re lucky to sort of see all these pieces all in one place, like we did at the gallery,” Johnson explains in the video below. “On one hand, it would be harder to maybe go into the bullpen, and have a brief…stuff like that. But I think in terms of meeting secretly, and even maybe exchanging information, [because we can be in the] same setting where we’re both attending something, I look forward to seeing how we’re going to navigate that.”
And Bell won’t be the only NYPD person Nova is interacting with while undercover: As the Marcy Killers and the Brotherhood (the corrupt group of cops Elliot is currently undercover with) continue their uneasy relationship, Nova will get drawn into the mess.
“With Nova being Webb’s second-in-command, there definitely is going to be an opportunity for me to interact with the Brotherhood, to a degree,” Johnson teases. “Webb is a very no cut corners [person]…he wants everything running like a well-oiled machine. As the Brotherhood becomes more slippery, there’s going to be an opportunity for us to interact with each other face-to-face because Webb’s got to get stuff running the way he wants it.”
