Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Monday, January 25, 2010
January 25, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Want the good news or the bad news first?
The bad news? Two of our Monday night favorites, How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory are both repeats tonight. But the good news is that means that the crazy Monday night schedule is just a tad bit lighter tonight…kind of. HIMYM and BBT might give us a bit of a break but two new shows are joining the already crowded Monday night. ABC Family’s GREEK is back with a new semester – one that can’t be missed. Over on FX is the new season of DAMAGES with Glenn Close. So much for that lighter load.
Check out highlights from tonight’s schedule. Below I’ll give you a peak at to how I’m planning to take it all in on Monday night. What about YOU? Leave a comment here or tell me about it on Twitter (@gmmrTV)

On the late night couch…

- The Jay Leno Show: Mark Harmon
- The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson: Carl Reiner, Alicia Witt
- Late Night with Jimmy Fallon: Michael Cera, Ana Gasteyer, Shwayze (R 1/5/10)
- Jimmy Kimmel Live: Joan Rivers, Dax Shepard, chef Paul Bartolotta (R 1/15/10)

- The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Bill Gates
- The Colbert Report: Kati Marton
- Lopez Tonight: Cheech Marin & Tommy Chong, Regina King, Train
Wow, that sucked. Had to removed The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien from my listings. Wish I could just delete Jay Leno altogether instead.
Talk to me people…what will YOU be watching tonight? And HOW are you watching? What do you DVR and watch live.
- 8pm – 9pm: Watch CHUCK live, DVR HOUSE
- 9pm: Watch LIFE UNEXPECTED live
- 10pm: DVR DAMAGES and GREEK (already watched this week’s episode…whew)
- Tuesday Morning 6am: Watch DVR’d HOUSE
- Tuesday Evening: Watch DVR’d DAMAGES (thinking this might be a show that’s covered solely on The TV Talk Podcast)
I can’t complain really. I’ve already seen tonight’s CHUCK, LIFE UNEXPECTED and GREEK but I need to watch them all again so I can do a write up on each. But it’s not every week that I have such luxury of watching the screeners in advance. Mondays are ugly. There’s nothing more to say.

I’m watching Chuck and then Life Unexpected live (they’re on one after the other, right?). I figured I gotta give these two some live viewership at least now. Then, I watch the rest on hulu since I don’t have cable or a DVR. When HIMYM and BBT are on each week, I wait until HIMYM is finally posted at CBS.com, and sadly, BBT has to wait for DVD viewership. Thank God, Tuesdays are dead for me. But then comes Wednesdays and Fridays!
And I’m supposed to be writing at night. Yeah right!
I don’t like that HIMYM and BBT (the only two CBS shows I like), no longer share an hour, which complicates things a bit. But I kinda like when one of the channels I watch on Mondays (CBS, Fox, and NBC) takes the week off: makes things more manageable
I miss the Castle recaps/reviews! Please bring them back — love that show!
Let me second the cry for Castle recaps/reviews. It and Chuck are my ‘must watch’ shows on Monday.
