THE VOICE: Morgan Myles Reflects on John Legend’s Praise
December 13, 2022 by Marisa Roffman
After Team Camila’s Morgan Myles performed “Girl Crush” on the Monday, December 12 episode of THE VOICE—which serves as the performance finale for season 22—John Legend surprised her with quite the proclamation: He dubbed her the best country singer he’s heard during his time with the show. (For context, this is Legend’s seventh season on the show.)
“It’s such a compliment,” Myles told reporters after the show in the video below. “So many amazing artists have come from Nashville and the country genre. And just to have that validation that I belong in country music, but in my own special way, has been a path that I have truly struggled to prove.”
“When he says something like that, it’s like, ‘Wow, I just finally feel very understood,'” she continues. “It just means a lot.”
